AGO is not part of the Ministry of Finance or, for that matter, any other Ministry. Although the AGO is housed on two floors of the buildings occupied by the Ministry of Finance and Treasury, it is not a part of Ministry of Finance and Treasury. It is an independent office of the state and answers to the Parliament rather than to the Executive.
